A flurry of stakes racing populates the April 2 closing day card at Gulfstream Park beginning in race 5 with the Grade 3, $150,000 Skipaway Stakes as a field of six older horses will contest the mile and one eighth event on the main track. 
The Grade 1, $500,000 Santa Margarita March 19 at Santa Anita is the featured event as a field of six will contest the mile and an eighth challenge on the main track. 
On Sunday at Santa Anita, the track will host the $75,000 San Pedro Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds, the six furlong contest has drawn a field of seven colts and geldings. 
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the featured race is the $1 million Santa Anita Handicap. The Grade 1 event will be contested at a mile and a quarter on the main track and has drawn a wide open field of nine colts and geldings. 
On Saturday at Delta Downs, the featured race is the $100,000 Pelican Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds bred in Louisiana, the race will be run at seven and a half furlongs and has drawn a field of eight colts and geldings. 
Amid a stakes-packed card February 26 at Gulfstream is the Grade 3 Herecomesthebride Stakes, featuring the return of Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies winner Catch a Glimpse who will make her three year-old debut against seven rivals in the mile and one sixteenth race on the turf. 
The Grade 2, $300,000 Las Virgenes February 6 at Santa Anita is all about Songbird relegating her six rivals to a more interesting and competitive contest for second. 
On Saturday at Santa Anita, the stakes action will begin with the $150,000 Robert B. Lewis Stakes. Restricted to three-year-olds, the Grade 3 event will be run at a mile and a sixteenth on the main track and has drawn a field of seven colts and geldings.
