On Saturday at Belmont Park, the featured race is the 21st edition of the $300,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap. The race will be run at six and a half furlongs on the main track and has drawn a field of six fillies and mares. 
Although the featured Pennsylvania Derby is the order of the day on the September 20 card at Parx, bettors shouldn’t sleep on the $100,000 Alphabet Soup Handicap – the first race of an all stakes pick four sequence beginning in race 9. 
An international cast of some of the most promising three-year-old turf fillies in the country are set to face off in Saturday’s featured race at Belmont Park, the 20th edition of the $500,000 Sands Point. The Grade 2 event will be run at a mile and an eighth over the inner turf course. 
From a handicapping perspective, the Grade II $200,000 Pocahontas Stakes September 6 at Churchill is all about which two year-old filly will handle the added ground of the mile and a sixteenth race. 
On Saturday at Churchill Downs, a field of five colts and geldings are set to compete in the 22nd running of the $100,000 Ack Ack Handicap. The Grade 3 event will be run at one mile on the main track. 
The early pick four and pick five Wednesday, August 27 action at Saratoga includes the $100,000 P.G. Johnson Stakes for two year-old fillies going a mile and a sixteenth on the turf course. 
On Friday at Saratoga, the Grade 1 Personal Ensign will feature a much anticipated rematch between Close Hatches and Princess of Sylmar. With a purse of $500,000, the mile and an eighth contest has drawn a field of seven of the best fillies and mares on the East Coast. 
The $400,000 St. Leger Stakes is the first major stakes race of the day August 16 at Arlington Park as eleven three year-olds are scheduled to line up for the one mile and eleven sixteenths marathon on the turf. 
On Saturday at Arlington Park, the future stars of the turf will shine in the 38th running of the Grade 1 Secretariat Stakes. The mile and a quarter contest will be run on the turf and has drawn a field of nine colts and geldings to compete for the winner’s share of $500,000.
