Deep and Talented Field Lines Up for Grade 2 Mrs. Revere
Handicappers in search of a full field with quality horses Saturday, November 15 wont have to look any further than the $200,000 Grade 2 Mrs. Revere Stakes at Churchill Downs.
The mile and one sixteenth event on the grass for three year-old fillies offers a little bit of everything with a field of fourteen that includes: four graded stakes winners, two New York shippers from notable barns, and enough evenly matched runners to keep the betting public guessing. 9/2 co-favorite Lady Lara made her stateside debut October 13 in the Peebles Stakes for trainer Bill Mott and passed the test with flying colors posting a length and a half off-the-pace score while earning a 90 Beyer Speed Figure. Lady Lara will receive Lasix for the first time in her fourteen race career, but will need a good trip breaking from post 11 under jockey Shaun Bridgmohan.
Grade 1 winner tries KY circuit again
Personal Diary, also listed at 9/2 on the morning line, is the lone Grade 1 winner in the field, and will try to rebound after finishing third in the Grade 1 QE II at Keeneland October 11. The Victoria Oliver trainee was far from disgraced in that effort and may not have cared for the soft turf she encountered that day.
Sparkling Review keeps getting better
There is plenty to like about Sparkling Review (10/1) who won the Grade III Valley View going away last out in career start number four. The Ben Colebrook trainee is unbeaten on turf in three starts and seems to improve each time out.
